Using a Mouse
Contract Collector can be used with or without a mouse (or other pointing
device, such as a track ball). Although every essential command and process in the
system can be accomplished using only the keyboard, use of a mouse is highly
recommended for ease of use.
Throughout this chapter, instructions are given first for those users with a
mouse. These are followed by instructions which explain how to perform the same
actions using only the keyboard. Keyboard instructions are preceded by a small
icon of a keyboard, shown here:
When a mouse has been properly installed in your computer system, an on-screen POINTER appears whenever you move the mouse. It moves on the computer screen relative
to the way you move the mouse on your desktop. The pointer is either an arrow
( ) for making selections or an I-beam () for text.
Using a mouse entails moving the pointer and then pressing a button on the
mouse to carry out an action. Unless otherwise instructed in the documentation,
you can assume that you should use the left mouse button. The right mouse button
is used in Contract Collector to access the SEARCH METHOD pop-up.
