New Slow Start Program
When trying to launch Contract Collector some fast computers will get a Divide
Error. This is caused by the speed of the processor trying to run the program
before it is loaded. This only occurs with some 300 MHz Pentium II or faster
computers.
Contract Collector now has a Slow Start (SLOWSTRT) program included with the
system, so users with this problem can slow the processor temporarily. This
only slows for initial loading and will not effect overall performance.
These are the instructions for using Slow Start:
- Edit the Properties of the Icon.
a) Right Click on the Contract Collector Icon
b) Select Properties
c) Select Shortcut Tab
d) Edit Target (where 'c:\cw' is the path to Contract Collector)
Before: c:\cw\cw.exe
After: c:\cw\slowstrt -timeout 2 "c:\cw\cw.exe"
e) Click on APPLY. Click on OK.
