Common Error Messages
"PRINTER DRIVER CORRUPT": This error occurs if all files in the CW sub-directory have not been set to read-only status. In DOS, go to the CW sub-directory and use the ATTRIB +R *.* command.
"ACCESS MODE(S) CONFLICT": There are two reasons that this error can occur:
- The Buffers and Files may not be set high enough on some workstations. Edit
the CONFIG.SYS file for the workstation experiencing the error so that BUFFERS=40 and FILES=150.
- You may have a corrupted file. If you are able to log into the program, run
the TEST FILES PROCESS from the UTILITIES SUBMENU.
"POSITION OFF SCREEN": There are five reasons this error can occur:
- If you are running Windows version 3.0.
- If one of the standard Windows fonts is missing.
- If you are using a non-standard video card and/or video driver in the computer.
4. If all files in the CW sub-directory have not been set to read-only status.
5. You are using third-party fonts that are incompatible with Contract Collector,
such as Bitstream's Facelift font package.
The "POSITION OFF SCREEN" error is usually caused by a non-standard video driver setting in Windows. To
correct this, change the video driver setting.
- Go to the Windows Program Manager and select the MAIN menu.
- Choose the Windows Setup Icon.
- Access the DISPLAY pull-down button and choose the option "VGA" for the standard VGA video driver. You might be prompted to insert one of
your original Windows program diskettes.
If this doesn't solve the GPF error, you may want to contact the manufacturer
of your Monitor and order an updated video driver if one is available or
contact Comtronic Systems technical support.
